Lessons

Coronavirus Covid-19 update:

During the Coronavirus COVID19 pandemic, at Newark Music Lessons all tuition is currently taking place via online video conferencing, using Facetime, Skype and Zoom. Unfortunately I am unable to take on new students at this time but please contact me to be added to the waiting list.

I offer tuition in clarinet, saxophone, recorder and piano for students of all ages. My students range in age from five years old right through to adult learners in their 80s.  Therefore, it really is never too late to learn an instrument! All abilities are catered for, from complete beginner to advanced.

I usually recommend weekly lessons of 30 minutes.  All lessons are given on a one-to-one basis in Newark, Nottinghamshire.  However, I also offer remote music lessons via Skype, Facetime or Google Hangouts. Advanced students often find longer lessons allow sufficient time to cover advanced technique and repertoire.

If you wish, we can schedule an initial consultation lesson to give us a chance to get to know each other and establish what your goals are. Following this initial lesson we can arrange a regular slot for your weekly lesson.

My teaching style is relaxed and sensitive to your needs.  Lessons are always focused around the way you want to learn, whether following a graded examination system or playing for fun.  The most important thing is that you are making progress and enjoying playing music!

Aural and theory training are a vital part of learning to play an instrument, so I incorporate the development of these skills into all lessons.

Lessons are charged at £15.00/30mins, £22.50/45mins or £30/60mins. Lessons are booked and paid for in advance, in blocks of six.

If you would like to book clarinet, saxophone, recorder or piano lessons please contact me to arrange your first lesson today.
